The gymnasium is located within the curtilage of the Grade II* listed Hurlingham House, in a constrained location flanking both the Oval Courtyard and Four in Hand Yard.

A feasibility study was undertaken to evaluate the most appropriate way to maximise floor area in this sensitive location, involving close consultation with English Heritage.
