David Morley and the Shielder Group team at the grand opening in Hong Kong

Minute Read

David Morley was delighted to be invited to speak on data centres at the launch of a new era of global expansion for Shielder Group in Hong Kong earlier this month.

Shielder is a leading provider of engineering solutions specialising in fire protection and advanced electrical systems. David spoke about the importance of Shielder’s work in fire safety and in the development of data centres, highlighting the challenges of balancing an exponential increase in demand with reducing the future carbon emissions from this sector.

David Morley Architects are currently working with Shielder on a number of international sites to look at how data centres can be integrated as part of wider masterplans which enable waste heat to be recycled.

Developing expertise in sustainable data centre solutions is an important expansion of our commercial offering at David Morley Architects. By embedding circular design principles at the core of new data centre masterplans, we have the opportunity to create innovative facilities that balance the demands of technological growth with environmental stewardship.
