In a letter published in The Times on Saturday 17th February, David Morley highlights the benefit of regenerating brownfield sites to provide new sustainable housing solutions.
Matlock Spa is a sustainable development set in the natural environment of the disused Cawdor Quarry on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The scheme, commissioned by Rifkind Associates, recognises how the post-industrial landscape of this brownfield site has spectacular potential as a focal point for a new community just five minutes’ walk from Matlock railway station and ten minutes’ walk from the town centre.
