UKGBC Future Leaders Showcase

Knowledge

A shout out to one of our fantastic architects Natalie Dutton for her dedication to the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Future Leaders programme.

Over the last five months Natalie has been supported by UKGBC to develop a personal leadership plan aligning to address the most critical issues facing the built environment sector today.

Last week we were fortunate to watch Natalie present the ‘Community Retrofit Toolkit,’ an innovative idea developed alongside a close-knit team of fellow ‘Future Leaders’ that will help to build consumer confidence in instigating and engaging with collaborative retrofit.

At a time where the UK is going through a crisis in energy security, cost of living, and fuel poverty, and with many properties displaying very low energy efficiency ratings, this concept is designed to give communities the tools to engage collectively in retrofit to reduce costs and spread the risks.

Can we make retrofit more accessible? Watch this space…

Natalie reflects on the leadership programme:

“The UKGBC Future Leaders programme has been an amazing journey – full of thought-provoking, inspirational discussions; professional and personal development, while creating meaningful connections with the rest of the future leaders along the way.

It has been a privilege developing the Community Retrofit Toolkit pitch with Helen Foster and Tom Wigg, which will empower communities to retrofit together.

I am grateful to David Morley Architects and to the UKGBC team for supporting me.”
